First Northrop version aircrafts were built under licence in Spain by CASA: 34 SF-5B, 18 SF-5A, 18 SRF-5A,
by Canadair for Canada: 89 CF-5A 46 CF-5D and for the Netherlands: 75 NF-5A, 30 NF-5A.

The official number of Tiger built is 953 divided in 4 prototypes built at Hawthorne, 941 at Palmdale and 8 at Mojave (from spare parts);
there are several versions of each type.
First version : 4 prototypes (built at Hawthorne plant); 941 (built at Palmdale plant); 8 at Mojave (from spare parts) TOTAL 953.
Second version: 793 F-5E; 12 RF-5E; 145 F-5F; 8 at Mojave (from spare parts) TOTAL 958
Third version : 792 / 793F-5E; 12 RF-5E; 146 F-5F; 8 at Mojave (from spare parts) TOTAL 958/959
Fourth version : 786 F-5E; 12 RF-5E; 147 F-5F; 8 at Mojave (from spare parts) TOTAL 953 most probabel !
Another version regarding all aircrafts being accepted by the USAF mentions: F-5E 995; 151 F-5F; 2 RF-5E (plus 10 for Saudi Arabia not included)i;
